Borghesia

Borghesia Biography

Borghesia is a Slovenian electronic music band formed in Ljubljana in 1983. The band's original lineup consisted of Borut Kržišnik, Iztok Turk, and Jasna Hribernik.

Borghesia's music is known for its combination of electronic, industrial, and experimental sounds. Their early work drew inspiration from bands like Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle, but they quickly developed their own unique style.

In 1984, Borghesia released their debut album "Clones," which was met with critical acclaim and helped establish the band as one of the leading acts in the Yugoslavian electronic music scene. They followed this with the album "No Hope No Fear" (1986) and "Ljubav Je Hladnija Od Smrti" (1987) which further solidified their place in the electronic music scene. They also released several EPs and singles that were well received by critics and fans.

Borghesia's live performances were known for being intense and theatrical, often featuring elaborate stage shows and the use of industrial equipment.

Borghesia's music and themes were often political and critical of the Slovenian government and society. They also dealt with social issues such as poverty, drug addiction, and the marginalized.

Despite lineup changes and a hiatus in the early 2000s, Borghesia continues to release new music and perform live. In 2020, they released their latest album "Neurotransmitters."
