Covenant Biography



Covenant is a Swedish electronic music band formed in 1986 by Eskil Simonsson and Joakim Montelius. The band's early music was heavily influenced by EBM (electronic body music) and industrial, but they later transitioned to a more synthpop-oriented sound.

Covenant's first album, "Dreams of a Cryotank," was released in 1994 and featured a mix of EBM and industrial influences. Their second album, "Sequencer," was released in 1996 and marked a shift towards a more synthpop-oriented sound. The album was a commercial success, and the band began to gain a larger following in Europe.

Covenant's third album, "Europa," was released in 1999 and featured a more polished and mainstream sound. The album was a commercial success and spawned several hit singles, including "Call the Ships to Port" and "Like Tears in Rain." The band's fourth album, "United States of Mind," was released in 2000 and marked a continuation of the band's synthpop sound.
