Skinny Puppy is a Canadian industrial music group, formed in 1982 by cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre. The band's early work was characterized by a fusion of electronic music and samples from horror films. They released their debut album, "Bites" in 1985, which was followed by the critically acclaimed "Remission" in 1984 and "Rabies" in 1989. The band's style evolved over the years, incorporating elements of rock, noise and ambient music.

Throughout the 80s and early 90s, Skinny Puppy was at the forefront of the industrial music scene, influencing a generation of musicians and helping to establish the genre. Their live performances were known for their use of elaborate stage shows and visual effects.
