The Human League Biography



The Human League is an English synthpop band formed in 1977 by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh. The band's early work was heavily influenced by the electronic and funk music of the 1970s. The Human League's first album, "Reproduction," was released in 1979 and featured a more experimental and atmospheric sound.

In 1981, The Human League released their breakthrough album, "Dare," which featured the hit singles "Don't You Want Me" and "Love Action (I Believe in Love)," which brought the band international success. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and the single "Don't You Want Me" reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.







Throughout the 1980s, The Human League released several more albums, including "Hysteria" (1984) and "Crash" (1986). Their sound during this period became more mainstream, incorporating elements of pop and rock music.

In the 1990s, The Human League released several more albums, including "Romantic?" (1990) and "Octopus" (1995). The band's sound during this period became more electronic, incorporating elements of techno and house music.

The Human League continues to tour and release new music to this day. The band's most recent album, "Credo," was released in 2011. Throughout their career, The Human League has sold over 20 million records and has a strong following worldwide. They are considered one of the most prominent synthpop bands of the 1980s, known for their distinctive vocal harmonies, catchy melodies, and innovative use of electronic instrumentation.
